Iowa | You could use SUMIF formulas. I'll attach an example. If you do this, you should use a drop down menu for the cells where you input the crop type to avoid typos not getting counted.
Edit: You could also put the drop down menus in table format. The table format makes it easy to sort things. Pivot tables could probably do it and come up with the crop totals.
