Southern Illinois | Trying to make farm program determinations and wondering if anyone has ever collected off SCO? I only had PLC on Winter Wheat since the program started in 2014 (I think that is right) and only had SCO two years and it did not pay either year. I know it is county based but I still struggle to to fully understand the program and when it would pay and when it wouldn’t. Is anyone planning on going PLC to gain access to the SCO to protect the top end of yields? With all the volatility and higher commodity prices I am thinking this might be a decent way to get some higher end yield protection without as much cost for a higher MPCI level.
