Eastern NY
How tall is the rye when you plant into it, I assume your using glyphosate to terminate the rye at v2. This is very interesting...have you done any side-by-sides. Wondering about a yield drag by leaving the rye grow. I always terminate after planting but before emergence. In past years Ive had a boom valve flutter and result in an incomplete burndown. By the time I notice it and come back its probably v2. I can see that strip all year. This was our first year interseeding. We did 50 acres with a broadcast spinner-at v6. Annual ryegrass, crimson clover, radish. We had two half inch rain events within a week after seeding which resulted in an awesome stand. Attached is a picture from September 18th. I only used a burndown at planting. This year I want to try some pre-emerge at cut rates ahead of interseeding.
