| How much are you willing to spend? I do Boulder to Twin Cities fairly often. Know a few hotshots. If they know weight, locations, price offered... they can add it to a partial load. Just need a ride to by MSP for my car. (Assuming it’s drivable) ;)
If you hire a driver. IMO write up, a contract. Get their DL # contact your insurance. Make sure they are covered. Set up plans for trouble.
I.E. for me to drive a semi tractor cross country back to company. I needed a contract that I’m covered by insurance, amount to be paid, if breakdowns company pays repairs (and hotel if repairs over 5 hours) plus $50 a day to wait.
If major issue they pay me $1 per mile (plus daily, hotel) truck their problem...
Btw if not a dually the cost to have it hauled is IMO really cheap. Cheaper then I would drive it. Just realize they will hound you for months to haul it. Long after it’s hauled. | |
