Air seeder is a chisel plow or cultivator. Usually a fixed hitch and minimal to no adjustment for level.
Air drill is floating hitch, can adjust and level the whole toolbar for uniformity, if you have non-independent openers. Independent openers whole other can of worms.
Hoe drill uses a rigid shank/sweep/opener of some form.
