Ya, that 16 is worrisome.   But if the freeze doesn't get down near the seed, I think you'll be OK.   

The growing point for the corn plant is below ground level.  If it can stay safe from the freeze, it will be fine.

Please take the time to let us know how it turns out.   It will be a good lesson for all of us.
