I have a ATU 200 on a 7140. Installed a ISO harness and it has worked as well as a factory install for 5 years now. The atu 200 will not respond as fast as integrated steering entering into a line but nothing you can't work with.
Can't comment on in a boxcar magnum but an atu300 is miles improved from an atu200 and worth the extra.
Edit. Would you mind posting posting a picture of how you have your atu attached /anti rotation bracket.
