Not an answer to your question but related.  Went in Lowe's the other day for the first time in month's and ,while walking through the lumber section, about had the big one.  8 ft 2x4 over $9 just for one.  Is this just a supply/demand thing or is it more of an indicator of inflation?  If prices go back down how far will they go in relation to prices before the spike?
