Great Plains
Upper Rio Grande river valley=San Luis Valley of Colorado. Lots of irrigated potatoes, malting barley, dry peas & alfalfa. Way prettier than lower Rio Grande & the water is clean. Just aim for Walsenburg, CO & pop over the pass. Then u can follow it down through New Mexico.
