Even with an unlimited data plan depending on the carrier, they'll throttle your speed and choke it down far enough you won't be able to watch tv very well.
Just check before you commit.
I know with our dedicated Verizon hotspot, they throttle data over 15gb a month. When we use our phones, I dont think we've ever gone over that so I'm not sure they throttle them or not.
