| I don't know if any of them use google earth, but I think most of the major equipment manufacturer's probably have some kind of fleet management software. For sure the construction manufacturer's and trucking companies do. The nice part is that it can link location and data together. You can see what machines are approaching a service interval or have some mechanical problem. An operator overheats a machine and you get an email. Maybe track how much fuel is needed at each site each morning. Can probably track productivity of each employee, etc. No need to reinvent the wheel unless you're just doing it for your entertainment. Most ag operations aren't at a scale to justify the expense. Take 5 minutes and call each of the employees on phone or radio and see where they are at is cheaper. | |
