| We are needing to do grid samples for lime application on quite a few acres over the next several years. I know there are several programs for setting up the grids, including SMS and SoilTestPro. I have downloaded a trial of SMS Basic, and couldn't quite get into it. I have used Soil Test Pro in the past, and really liked the app for the sampling, but being locked into their labs and tests is a no go. Also, the $2/acre charge above the lab cost is something. I would basically use my own formula to make the application maps, then need to load them into a Greenstar 2600 for the VR application.
Does anyone know of an inexpensive (not afraid to pay, but would prefer to not overspend) app or program for a smartphone or laptop to do the field work, with a compatible program for use in the office to make and export the maps. I have used Farmworks for most of this in the past, but it also seemed to be a difficult process, and am looking for something different.
