nw MN | I got a reman alternator for a grain truck at oreilly. It had a "lifetime" warranty. One of the bearings went out about year 2. They "tested " it and said it was fine. I asked if they could hear the screeching noise. Well yeah it's a little loud. They went on and on about service life and environment used and sometimes they get abused and such. When I explained to them that it had sat under the hood of a truck in a shed for 10 months out of the year and had maybe 500 miles of total use they did get me a new alternator. But I had to really fight for it, and they said in the future they would not be able to do so. So I told them in the future I would not be able to shop there.
I would say lifetime warranties are not worth a damn anywhere anymore.
