Northeast Indiana | This is correct. I wouldn't get the cheapest stuff that you can find, but look for a butyl rubber product, you don't want to get the asphalt based products. Also get as thick as you can for what you want to spend. I've used a product called GTMAT rated at 110mil and have been happy with it. Just use scissors and/or utility knife to cut. The different sized roller applicator kits make install easier. A heat gun is a must also when installing. While this type of product does decrease sound passing through the application site, it is designed to stop metal panels from resonating.
