I agree with you. I don't understand why to pick corn over 20% and dry it down. I can't pencil that out how that would make you more money. Probably a here thing. So when you dry it down from 26% to 15% I don't understand any yield gain when you take 15% corn that was dried down from 26% to the elevator. I understand how wet corn weighs more, but once at 15% is their a difference whether taking out of the field at 26% and drying down or picking at 15%. I just see a big cost on the drying side that I don't have. I thought it was really nice picking corn at 14.5% this year and putting in the bin and thinking just running the fan a few cold nights to keep it cool Sure saved on my utility bill. Maybe up north, Corn doesn't dry down and I can understand that.
