Subject: 2600 to 2630 decision

Jackson County, AL

So somehow just found out Deere is no longer producing 2630 displays, and we're still using two 2600s and need to add a new display this year.  We do have an extra 2600 that hasn't been used since a new screen was installed by Deere two years ago.  We are running 6000 receivers already, and the new display would obviously be as well.  So, should we get our hands on three 2630s while we can move our activations, and add swath control to the new one without a yearly subscription;  or should we add one 2630 and use the three 2600s we have for as long as we can?  Are we in danger of losing our activations when they crap out and there are no 2630s to be found, or Deere will no longer allow transfers?  Don't need to go to a Gen 4 display right now, and we understand that's the future, and we can't avoid them forever.  However, we don't like the way Deere keeps moving the goalposts with regard to subscriptions and the uncertainty of the future with the technology we've bought and paid for.  Yes, I am aware that technology by it's very nature becomes obsolete, but no one can deny that Deere has a money printing scheme going, and has for several generations of technology now.
