| This is why laugh when guys on here ask what it should cost to haul a combine, or tractor with duals, or big wide planter, and someone is always like $3.5-$4 dollars. I guarantee they have never hauled any of this stuff. Sometimes permitting is easy, most of the time legally you would need 1-2 escorts or you should tare it down, like is tires, final drives, and ladder off. Also not to mention the fact that when you mention to your insurance company you need $500,000 in cargo and your hauling oversized your insurance is like 5 times what most pay for their grain semi. Oh, and in order to get permits in most states you have to produce proof of insurance. It's one thing to move something 100-200 miles in one state. When you start crossing state line it gets a bit more involved, as stated in the original post each state has their own rules and permit system. | |
