West Texas | Reminds me of the Ruud cotton harvesters. They would pick cotton up off of the ground if it was hailed on. One year we had a bad hail and a guy came and picked it up with one for half. It worked pretty good but the cotton was really dirty and I don’t think the gins like it. It had a series of belts with grooves cut across them and they would go around a pulley on the ground and the grooves open but then close while clamping the cotton as they straightened. They would open up and drop the cotton as they went around the top pulley. It was a 3 row I think and pulled with a tractor. | |
