Does it have a idiot light on the dash?I believe they have a volt gauge. If it has a bulb,that bulb has to be fully functional. (not burned out)If that light bulb on the dash is burned out it wont send electrical current down to the excite wire to excite the alternator. There may be a diode in that exciter line wire somewhere that went bad or perhaps a connection.
Can you make it charge if you put a jumper across the exciter terminal over to the BAT post on the alternator?
