Subject: Briggs & Stratton 18hp V-twin?

Southern IL Randolph County
Trying to fix the issue with this JD 235 lawn tractor where it will want to fall on its knees and sputter under load. Runs fine sitting still but wants to fall flat putting any load on the engine. So far I have changed the carburetor (China knockoff), which has not made any difference, removed and cleaned the fuel tank along with all new rubber 1/4” fuel hoses. The fuel filter seems to have a sparse amount of gas in it while running. Only other thing to change would be the fuel pump maybe? Do I have a different problem with the engine possibly? Thanks
