On this computer I'm using Windows 7 and when booting I press F8 which offers  several options.  Among them is to boot into safe mode with networking and that's the one I used.  It allows Malwarebytes to access the Internet to update prior to a scan.

But no matter, Malwarebytes is supposed to can all the files and memory in normal mode.  The malware should be detected whether it's loaded  or just residing in a file.  At least that's the way I was looking at the result.
