| 6222, 8222, or 9222 should all be front fold 12 row planters, not sure your budget but that will decide what one you buy, I have a 6222 right now same meter as 8222 but 8222 has a better hinge on it, never had trouble with my 6222 but they made it heavier on the 8222, 9222 would be less than 5 years old likely, go from chains to cable drive or even electric, made some minor changes in the meter and row units, bigger gauge wheels, better depth control larger disk opener and a closing system that doesn’t wear as bad, row unit is now made out of cast I believe. Even the old 6222 series is a very good planter I’ve run it for 25 years! | |
