SW Saskatchewan | The 1150 was regularly rated from 450 to 600 hp. The 600HP version was what we have in our Bud but Cummins did not have that legendary Torque as the HP increaed.
At 1700 RPM all three versions had close to same maximum torque, the 450 behaved a lot like the old 280 HP 855 in the 850 versatile. The higher HP versions did not have that "get down in the trenches and dig" attitude.
The KTA and KTTA had different HP and Torque ratings.
They were a legendary engine but basically because of their size. Most people would agree that the 855 was the best engine built by Cummins. The 855 did not have the fuel efficiency and were EXPENSIVE to repair compared to the 855.
Enjoy, you own a part of Canadian History. | |
