Subject: [PICS} The Insides of a Hard-Drive

St. Gregor, SK, Canada

Failed hard drive...

Case popped open:

Read/write heads and the platters (disks). There's three surfaces on this drive, and thus three read/write heads.

The Read/Write heads, removed, and the motor (back end).

Platters, spacers, washer, and screws. Tape measure for reference.

Disk drive motor:

Empty casings:
