Subject: Re: Transmission fluid got hot today while planting

Virginia
I may end up doing the power beyond. It rained last night and we won't be back into the field until later in the week. So, this AM, I ran the planter vac with the flow control valve half way open ( previously it was fully open) I couldn't detect any heating in any hydraulic circuits.

The mechanic at the dealer later called and said to run the flow control valve about half way open also. I read my 4430 tech manual and you are correct, you don't want to return the oil to the sump.

Thanks for your help.
