Subject: RE: 2020 Christmas at church

Hooker Twp,Ne
Well we normally have near 500 attend our Christmas Eve service. The church Is packed and chairs are set up. The Sunday school kids put on the program. This year we are going to have both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day service with a max of 150. That church was dedicated in 1916. The church steeples were pulled up with horses and rope somehow. The horses had to pull the rope a quarter mile down the road to the east to get the steeples up. The inside has a drop ceiling and there is about 20 feet difference between the drop ceiling and the roof. Been up there. The chandelier lights have to be lowered from the top down with rope to change bulbs. The carpenters in those days where some very smart individuals. The supplies came with horse and wagon from Nebraska City off the Missouri River which is about 75 miles away. The men of the church were all expected to help with building of the church. Women made the noon lunch.
