WC Iowa | 99% of what matters on cb antennas is getting the SWR tuned. Early 2000s I put paired a little 6" magnet antenna and a cobra 19 radio on my brothers 92 Grand AM and got it tuned almost perfect and that thing had better range than my pickup with a 4' firestik II antenna tuned just under 1.0. That little thing had no trouble talking 7+ miles on hills tops and at least a mile no matter what. So my advice is find one that is made to tune easy without cutting and have a good ground. I still like the firestik 2 antennas for the looks but have had good luck with anything easily tuneable. | |
