McCanna, ND | If you get a snow pusher you need to decide if you want a rubber or steel cutting edge. Have a 332 deere wheeled machine, maybe 90ish HP? I use a 8’ pusher with a steel cutting edge and after the ground is frozen it’s awesome, it will dig into non frozen ground pretty bad. Neighbors have a 14-16’ on a payloader with a rubber cutting edge, due to the width of that pusher rubber is the only way to go but it doesn’t get to the ground as good as a steel edge will. Also the deeper the sides the better on a snow pusher if you are staying narrow. My 8’ won’t push that great in wet snow after I extended the side boards but I didn’t want to go up to a 10’ either. 95% of the time it works really good. The other 5% of the time I use a snow bucket or a 450 dozer or a tractor with a 8’ blade. | |
