I've wondered about this as well. I'm sure mechanically it should work. I always thought the corn burning stove had a nice "sweet" essence to the exhaust back when we used to run one of those. May just have to grab a pail from the bin and give it a try just for experimentation's sake.

The main difference that I'm not as sure about is the auger tube in the stove drops the corn from above the burn pot so the auger of fuel is not close to the fire, where as the pellet grill has the auger tube going directly into the side of the burn pot. Under certain circumstances, pellet grills can suffer from "burn back" where the pellets in the auger catch fire and burn back to the hopper faster than the auger pushes them out. I have no idea if corn would be more or less susceptible to this.
