Subject: RE: Grinding hay. Where to store it?

East central Iowa
I never had great luck with that amount of hay ground up at once. One reason why I bought a grinder years ago.
They would grind that much hay, it would last 30 days. After 3 weeks I would start to have mold issues. Not from weather, from moisture on bales, even just from sitting on the ground. Maybe that's not an issue for you. I've ground into front of buildings and even old silage wagon.
Building bunker with bales and cover maybe your best bet. Putting on concrete will help.
I don't know what they charge you but if you feed cattle too you maybe are closer to justifying a grinder purchase.
