I feed Hills Science Diet and it is about 55.00 for 35 pounds. I had been reading for years about how dog food was not what it used to be and thought yea yea. Well my older Heeler had been having all kinds of problems and I finally switched and she is a different dog now. My dogs work and without them I could not do what I do with cattle. It is just me and them so they are worth it. This dog I am talking about would be dead now if on the same food. My vet says it is the quality of the protein and the need to stay competitive on the price. If the protein price goes up they just go to a cheaper protein instead of raising the price on the dog food. The dogs pretty much starve to death and pull their needs from organs and muscle. |
