Subject: RE: Trimble Autopilot

We have installed an Ez steer on a 4640 coupe with very good results. Something to be very careful of is to make sure you get the freeplay set properly. Every coupe I've setup had major freeplay issues, usually 4 to 5 inches at least. Does your unit have the T2 option installed? If not it can be really challenging to calibrate these units. We usually start on the municipal road running back and forth to get closer to the actual settings using the EZ calibration mode and then return to the field for the fine tuning.
The 4640 we setup runs at 15-17 mph with .5 to 3.0 inch variance.

The freeplay is the key issue to get resolved.
