I did too. If it is 3/4" cleaned rock with the fines removed it will not pack very well. If it was mixed rock up to 3/4" (with fines) it would probably pack ok. Rock for concrete has the fines removed and does not pack very well. Lateral rock (for septic systems) is another graded rock with the fines removed that works good as a base but does not pack very well. John
