Subject: RE: Cutting torch

Can you find the name brand and model number on a tag or stamp ?
If its a name brand torch, like AirCo, or Harris or Victor, you might be surprised what a little research may save you in just having it cleaned and serviced.
I rebuilt 3 of my grandpa's torches this past winter for a 1/3 of new. There are a lot of resources online if you are willing to do a little homework.
Most valves can be re o ringed or sealed or knob/valve assemblies can be replaced as a unit.

If anything , take to a reputable welding service shop and get an estimate.

I have had many of my friends and customers want to junk their torches as well, when most times it just had some dirt / debris lodged deep. Some were as simple as a spider web nest, to just a faulty tip, and a couple just needed an o ring.

any pics ?

Also make sure your hoses and regulators are working properly as well and not causing the torch issue.
