Subject: RE: Corn in furrow rootworm control

Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska
A Dosatron injecting insecticide into in furrow fertilizer is what I do.
Downfall is if you plant early the effectiveness of the insecticide runs out before egg hatch. If planting later in May it worked well.
After having a couple of disasters with root worm I now spray for beetles on fields going back to corn. Use treated seed on 2nd year corn and beyond. Also inject insecticide on any continuous corn. Use different treated corn with Stax or Duracade. Rotate to beans after 3-4 years of corn where possible.
