They are a little harder to open than the Timpte traps but if you keep powdered graphidte on them they aren't that bad. Seems like the first turn is the worst. We have one trap that the seems to jiggle back against the lock & usually takes a tap or two with the end of the crank to get the latch up, other one doesn't do it.
