Going to be turning bred cows out on an oat/cover crop field. About 16-18" of growth on the oats, wondering if i'll be facing any troubles come calving time with putting the cows on this lush field. Calves are to start dropping feb/march. Should i be limiting them to the parts of the field so they don't over eat?

Thanks

Oh yeah - - - - right now your girls can actually make do on the poorest groceries. Come mid Dec would be when you want to drop them into this wonderful treasure.
Dunno where you're at but if things will be freezing out pdq then I'd be quite temped to make silage bales off this instead - - - - just my $0.015.
IMO this will just move your cows from a 1350# ave to about a 1525# average - - - and how does that make you $$$ ?
