I don't mean to downplay mister Columbus getting Europeans to the new world. It's just that he never was in America himself.
I also don't judge anyone by today's standards on what they did hundreds of years ago. It doesn't matter to me what a state or country does about the holiday to me. I just never understand the holiday.
