The gash is going to be the end of it.  I've seen some "farmer fixes" to get one by, but one that big probably not.  I run some poor tires on some older tractors than only get a a hundred hours or so a year for light work, and can generally get by with thick patches when I put a deer antler through them.. but that's an inch or less, and I wind up with a hundred dollar tube in it most of the time.
