Oxford County, ON | So we’re pushing the limits of our 8100 by running it on a 36’ 1990CCS. Yes, a 30’ would have been a better choice but the 36’ is in immaculate condition and the price on it was better than the 30s we found. It handles it surprisingly well, but some more ponies wouldn’t hurt.
We were hoping to EkoTune it but we talked to the EkoTuning guy and he says it can’t be done on the first year models because they still have a mechanical fuel pump, so that option is out the window.
We then asked our independent (former JD) mechanic if we could just turn the screw on the pump and he says the tractor is just electronic enough that the governor will take over and keep it at the preset horsepower.
Are we out of luck or is there another option?
TIA
