| I had one that got the air filter sucked in at 190K or so, most likely due to an employee improperly installing it.
Despite eating tons of dirt it kept hammering away (with lots of added oil) until 200,000+ miles when it lost oil pressure and dropped a valve nearly simultaneously.
I guess I’m my book it’s a great engine. If you don’t do something stupid like what happened to mine I think 300K should be easy.
I will say that the 2017 and up are a lot better for 3 reasons:
1. Neutral position available on 4WD so you can flat tow it
2. Air filter setup is FAR superior
3. The air going through the evaporator is filtered. My 2011 pickup was terrible in that regard. Plugged the A/C up yearly and it was a major job to clean it out. Like major enough that you just ran without AC for months because that was way easier. I think they bill you got 12 hours if you have the dealer do it. | |
