SW OH | I saw your original post. I've crawled under hundreds of trucks and have never seen numbers in a frame.
I suggest you take a piece of aluminum and some letter/number stamps and make your own. Attach it to the cab somewhere in the door jamb area. I was told to do this by a DOT bear for a trailer where the original plate was so corroded it was illegible and more permanent steel tag was missing. I have since acquired 2 other trailers that didn't come with the correct titles that now have homemade vin plates.
