We have a 24' above ground. About 15 years ago we tried a propane fired heater. We ran it one fall and that was it. It made the water nice but you needed the wealth of Jed Clampett to pay for the propane. There may be something much more efficient now but that burner was like firing a small corn dryer or a hot house nursery.
