Southeast Ohio | CONGRATS on a dandy buck. Young fella has quite the start to his hunting career. Wow. My son killed animals of that caliber at similar age as your grandson. Granted hunting has become much different as the baiting/shooting has changed our sport in Ohio, but my son seems to have lost interest. I will not allow hunting over bait on my farm, even though legal in Ohio. I wonder if his early success spoiled his desire to hunt? I often think of the time growing up as a kid in northeast Ohio, we used to get excited to see just one deer! 150 plus deer were never even a consideration!
I suspect Iowa is still a state full of hunters. Unfortunately, Ohio is not. Most of Our youth will grow up thinking hunting is all about cellular game cameras and hunting over feeders. I hope you and your grandson continue to enjoy success and enjoy our sport of HUNTING. | |
