| We went seriously dry after first cutting. Like no rain since 5 days before first cutting, and no rain til after 2nd cutting. Had deep enough soil.moisture to get 1 bale an acre. It was very droughty looking. No fertilizer added besides right after planting. Sent sample out to dairy one and came back almost identical to first cutting. No nitrates I think it was less than 100ppm.
I have a question myself. I planted some BMR that was called sweet later grazer bmr. I left a small strip upcut that went a long time before heading out.
I also planted bwi Jackpot, cheap sorgum Sudan.
The bmr didn't seem to come back after first cutting and hardly none is left after 2nd cutting. The jackpot is going to make a nice 3rd cutting. Is that common for bmr not to come back as well? | |
