Subject: Belt trailer and mod distillers

We are looking at adding a modified distillers to our backgrounding ration. Product is 48% moisture. Price is attractive and the ration could use the moisture. Previously we hauled DDG out of this plant with a hopper bottom. It’s about 160 miles to get home. Is a belt trailer the best option for this? I have a daycab with a wet kit capable of running one. We will use about a load a week assuming we can haul 20 tons on tandem belt trailer. Would freezing temps be an issue with this setup? Maybe an end dump with a liner is a better choice? Obviously planning on running straight home to unload. So maybe 3-4 hrs on trailer.
