| From what I understand here in South Texas we had bears. Then barb wire fences went up, along with hunting and they got rid of them all. I think I once herd that when all the fences went up they really didn't like crossing them and made hunting them easier. Seems all the places I have been where bears are there are not many fences. Here where I live every price of land is fenced in pretty much. Some places not so much but mostly fenced off.
Your lucky you don't have hogs there. Very difficult to fence out a hog. Can be done but they will find the smallest of holes.
