I highly recommend Utah. If you are driving start at Moab UT where you can enjoy Arches NP and Canyonlands NP. Then work your way down to Glen Canyon, Grand Staircase-Escalante NM and on to Bryce NP and Zion NP. Just an amazingly beautiful part of the country. You could probably spend a month there and not run out of things to do and see.
