Croswell, Michigan | My 12 year-old son got his first deer yesterday during a special youth hunt. We had sold some hay to a guy but he had not picked up all the bales yet. So we set 4 in a square in the center of a hay field. I saw this little buck walk up but couldn’t see him when my boy shot I just saw him run into the woods after. My boy said he knew he hit him. We just sat for a bit then went for a walk. When I found the first drops of blood he was really excited! It took us about 45 minutes to find him as he doubled back in a pretty thick swale. Fortunately my boy was the one to find him.
