Iowa | You might want to consider a rotary composter. Biovator is one brand I found with a quick internet search. There are others. I know of a couple farms that use them with good results, but don't remember what brands they use. One was made of some sort of plastic and the other was made of stainless steel if I recall correctly. They can be a little pricey. The main advantage is they get more consistent results and do a better job of breaking down bone material. edit to add: I was told also maintain a higher temperature in colder weather than the regular compost bins.
